    VERVAET BEET EATER 625 Sugar Beet Harvester Maximum capacity The Beet Eater 625 can harvest up to 1500 meters before the tank is full (at 50 tons per hectare). You can choose to cart the beet to the heap with the harvester itself, or with the use of tracer bins. ​ Excellent cleaning The Vervaet Beet Eater 625 starts cleaning the beet as soon as they are lifted from the ground. This is because the big turbines immediately sieve out more than 50% of the lifted soil. Resulting in cleaner beets. With the help of V-shaped caps inside the topper, the leaf is put on rows between the beet. Doing so, the leaf is evenly spread over the entire area. Tractors with trailers alongside the machine will not get covered with leaf rests. ​ If the integral function is selected, the speed of the flailshaft goes up automatically a chosen percentage. This percentage can be set in the computer. ​ Conventional with auger and leaf spreader – the auger pushes the leaves to the right side onto a fast spinning spreader. This large "rotating disc" ensures perfect spreading of leaves over the field over a width of up to 6m. The leaf spreaders’ speed is adjustable, and it can be folded up from the cab. Integral Topper: Perfect defoliation at low costs With the integral topper the leaves are evenly distributed over the entire area. The topper is light weight, has a compact size, and is cheaper to purchase and maintain. 625HU Harvesting Unit Shear lifter: independently rotating For years, the harvesting unit came with independent oscillating shears. They have the unique point that they each shear individually making a circular motion in the ground. One of the two shears made a lifting movement which gently wiggle the beet out of the ground. At 700 rpm, it means 23 lifting movements per second. The speed of the shears can be set from the cab. Each element follows its row, so the beets are always in the centre of the lifter. The unit has been perfected to require less maintenance than any other shear system on the market. ​ The oscillating shears can harvest the beet shallower, without breaking the roots. It’s virtually impossible to block with stones, or experience problems due to weeds. Oppelwheels: a new chance for old technology Oppelwheels technique, metal lifting wheels positioned in a V- shape, have been around for years. In some circumstances this type of lifting delivers better work than the well-known lifting shears. For example: root crops with a longer root than the beet, such as chicory, can be better lifted by the oppelwheels technology. At the narrowest end of the wheel set, the root is being pulled straight up out of the ground without breaking the root. The oppelwheels follow the rows individually, as well as the lifting shears, so the beets are always in the center of the lifting element. ​ The speed of the oppelwheels is linked to the driving speed so you always get the same harvest motion. This ensures that you can harvest faster than with harvesting shears. Steering Steering The Vervaet Beet Eater 625 features 6-wheel steering. This ensures that Vervaet Beet Eater 625 is extremely agile and manouvrable with a very short turning circle of only 8.5 m. ​ The rear wheels are running off-set between the front wheels. This creates a perfect weight distribution over the whole work width. The field remains perfectly flat. When in auto-steering mode, the sensor for the front wheels is controlled by the lifting elements, and the sensor for the rear wheels is controlled by the feeler on the topper, that senses the leaf of the beet.     What is trommel screening A trommel screen is a rotating circular mesh drum that can sort materials based on their size. The mesh allows small materials like soil or sand to fall through and be collected by a conveyer under the drum. The larger materials flow to the end of the trommel where they are gathered into another pile. ​ What is a trommel used for? Trommels are perfect for screening a wide range of materials and they are the first choice for wet and sticky organic substances including. Soil Sand Mulch Wood pellets/chips Compost Domestic waste ​ ​ How does a trommel work? Load hopper Mixed material is fed into the hopper. The hopper is attached to a conveyer that slowly moves the material into the top of the trommel drum. The speed that the hopper feeds material is important for the separation of fines. Adding material quickly into the drum might seem like the swiftest way to process it, but each trommel has a loading capacity. This is the maximum amount of material that can be in the drum at any one time - normally 40% of its width. If the drum is overfilled, there won’t be enough time for the valuable fines to be separated and they will be deposited alongside the larger materials. This means that the whole batch would need to be reprocessed. The speed of the feed hopper can be controlled on many machines. ​​ Trommel screening The hopper moves the mixed material into the top of the drum. As it is tumbled around, air is mixed in helping to dry any wet or sticky material - this improves separation. The dragging and dropping motion that is created by material being pulled up the side of the drum helps break up large lumps and allows the fines to pass through the mesh. If the trommel drum is not spinning fast enough, the material will sit on the bottom and form large clumps. This is caused by stones collecting wet materials and “balling” them together. Screened material is passed onto a lower conveyor which carries the fines away to a separate stockpile. Sieving vs drag and drop screening. Trommels are normally used at a 5 degree angle but this can be changed depending on the type and wetness of the material. If you were screening dry sand, you could have the trommel at a steeper angle - increasing the speed of the material as it passes through. Trommels come in a range of sizes from small, portable, compact screeners to large, tracked trommels. Screened soil can be used on site or even sold for a profit. In general, the finer the topsoil is screened, the higher the price. ​ Construction sites that produce a lot of concrete waste can benefit from recycling and screening their concrete. Separated concrete sand - made up of granite and limestone, can be used for fill and bedding in structures including pavements and roads. Screened concrete sand is a perfect base as it promotes water drainage - stabilizing the structure. Recycling and screening your waste concrete aggregate can help reduce the number of trucks going to landfill and lower the costs associated with transport and disposal of waste.     VERVAET BEET EATER 925 Sugar Beet Harvester As early as 1974,Vervaet introduced the world's first self-propelled tanker harvester. A machine which was capable of topping, lifting, cleaning and transporting the beet simultaneously. In the 30 years since, almost all competitors have followed in our footsteps. ​ In 200, to stay ahead of the competition, and to keep sugar beet lifting profitable into the future, Vervaet introduced the "Beet Eater", the first 9-row tanker sugar beet harvester in the world. ​ Capacity has proven to be at least 50% more then the conventional 6-row machines. It is possible to harvest up to 3 Ha (7.5 acre) per hour. New constructions have been developed, unique for sugar beet harvesters. On the Agribex agricultural show in Brussels, we won the prestigious "gouden aar". ​ Let us go through the machine from the front to the rear. ​ Why the Beet Eater 925? After the leaf is cut of by the flails, an auger transports the leaf to the right hand side, where it is dropped onto and spread by a disc-type leaf spreader. The leaf spreader has been increased by about 35%, to handle the extra leaves. Adjusting the scalpers from 18 to 20 inch row-width is done hydraulic. 925 Lifter Lifter 3x3 is 9… Obviously, the lifter needs to fold-up for road transport too. This one folds up in 3 parts (3 x 3 rows) This lifter can bend down a little more then horizontal,so when the land is not flat, it can still maintain a shallow lifting depth. Each side of the lifter has it's own depth control,as well as the middle section,which has a left and right depth control, like the conventional 6-rows. Both side-sections are also provided with an automatic row finder. They can move left and right for about 15 cm (6 inches) on top of the 8 cm which each element could move already, solving the problem of beet being drilled with 6 or 12 row drills. It is even possible to lift only 6 rows, simply by lifting up the right hand side section. The shares are driven separately, by hydraulic motors, instead of v-belts. ​ Behind the lifting shares are 3 turbines (1,35 meter on the sides and 1,85 meter in the middle) Due to the ideal turbine configuration, the beet flow is just perfect and the length of topper + lifter are nearly the same as the 6-row 17-Tonner. Hydraulic 45-50 cm (18-20 inch) row-width adjustment from the cab is optional. Other row widths are possible on request. 925 Tank Tank The ring elevator also been extended. The width is now 90 cm instead of 80 and the depth of the baskets has also increased, thus giving 50% more capacity. ​ Tank capacity is 25 tonnes.The discharge elevator is situated behind the front wheels making it possible to lower the tank floor about 30 cm compared to other systems, effectively lowering the centre of gravity. ​ The discharge elevator is 1,70 m wide and unloads the entire tank in approximately 40 seconds. 925 Cleaning Cleaning When we want to lift 9 rows at the same speed as a six row machine,we need to have bigger and additional turbines accordingly.That is why we have 5 big turbines behind the 3 of the lifting unit. ​ The gates around the turbines are adjustable from the cab, and mounted in rubber silent-blocs for beet-friendly treatment,and less maintenance. ​ Needless to say, that all the speeds of the turbines are adjustable from the cab as well. Drive This is something special: Because of the working width of 4,5 meter, we can use the same area to drive on. We accomplished this by extending the front wheels each by 50 cm. Consequently, the machine drives one wheel per track. Also, the stability of the machine is greatly improved with the wide front axle. For those who don't favour full land coverage; it is also possible to lift with the front axle kept narrow, leaving about 1 meter of ground untouched. ​ All 4 front wheels are mounted on hydraulic cylinders,which are coupled so their weight is spread 50-50. Also it makes the wheels follow the surface perfectly. ​ It is possible to lift the machine up 10 cm should the machine get stuck ,or lower it 10 cm for low bridges etc. ​ All 6 wheels are driven and steered ,which gives a short turning circle of only 8 meter, despite of its size.
